World’s first trackless train

Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) which is also known as trackless train was first unveiled on June .

ART is hybrid work of a tram and bus, however it doesn’t require a dedicated rail tracks and is capable of carrying around 300 passengers.

Autonomous Rail Transit is developed by China’s CRRC Corporation Limited. CRRC Corporation Limited started designing ART in 2013.

ART which is also known as Smart Train uses rubber wheels and is expected to have a life-span of 25 years.

With 10 minutes of charging, it can travel about 25 kilometres with maximum speed of 70Km/h.

World’s 1st trackless train started test runs in the Zhuzhou city of China on 24th October 17. It is expected to hit the roads of China next spring.
